Jonte Smith Signs New Contract With Lewes FC
Bermuda’s Jonte Smith has signed a new contract with Lewes Football Club, with the club noting he has “been a key component of our promotion campaign, scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season.”
The club’s announcement said, “Striker Jonte Smith has signed a new contract with the Rooks as Darren Freeman continues to build his side for next season’s Bostik Premier League campaign.
“Jonte rejoined the club in November 2016, after a short spell with Welling Utd. The Bermuda international has been a key component of our promotion campaign, scoring 20 goals in all competitions this season.
“The new deal will keep Jonte at the club until the end of the 2018/19 season with an option for a further year.
“Darren is pleased to have the 23-year-old striker signed.
“Jonte showed that he’s more than capable of scoring goals at Bostik Premier level when we were last in that league a couple of seasons ago,” he said.
“He’s a class act and he’s added more to his game over the course of this season. I’m delighted we’ve got him with us for next season.”
